Lila Silveira Museum Quality Mata Ortiz Olla

This pot was authentically hand pitched and hand decorated by Lila Silveira from Mata Ortiz. Lila, a second-generation potter, has developed to full maturity in both the structural integrity of her pots and the fine work in her painting. The present olla is made in the marbleized fashion, in a dark red-brown background, and is decorated in the sweeping band style of the Quezada family . In real life, the cream color of the decoration against the redish of the background makes for a stunning visual effect.

The present olla measures 14 inches high by 8 inches in diameter at it widest part and is signed by Lila.
